I had my sewing supplies out, Devyn’s in-progress strap/sleeves and dress all strew over my project room when my sister-in-law came to stay with her 4 kids for a night. I was working on the dress while they were here, when my 8 year old niece came in to see what I was doing. She had just gotten an American doll for Christmas and one thing led to another and I was making her doll a dress – just like the dress I was altering, complete with strap sleeves. I had plenty of left-over satin, made a wide enough sash to cover the dolls body, gathered a skirt and made mini-strap/sleeves just like I had done for the real dress. My niece picked out silver jewels to glue on the dress. And then she needed matching shoes, so I sewed some booties, which of course had to have silver jewels as well. Now her doll had a modest formal gown to wear on the cruise my niece was about to go on with her family.
So, what do you think ?
