A very simple yet effective refashion, I simply loved the print on this shirt I got at the Thrift Outlet for 50cents but it was several sizes to big and the neckline was way too low – and ruffles around the collar, why? A little seam ripper and a few stitches later and I have a nice new top to add to my wardrobe.
It was so simple I barely got any pictures other than before and after, here you see the awful ruffles on the collar, the flowers are cute but I had to raise the neckline and I think they’d be much more effective as an accent on a plain top or hair peice so those will be saved for a later project.
I seam ripped off all the ruffles and the flowers.
And then all I did to make the neckline higher and the shirt fit better was to take in the arm seams – I sewed by hand so it was too tricky to take pictures. I didn’t even cut the excess because everything was serged and might fray if I cut it. I had to try it on a couple of times to get the neckline right but it worked out great.
So, what do you think ?
