I was given the lace overlay portion from the
Two Dresses become a Two-in-One skirt
And as I had kept the original lining I decided to reattach the lace to the original lining and make a skirt.
We didn’t get a picture before we cut the top of the dress off, but it was just tiny triangles with spaghetti straps.
Having tried the lining on, I marked with pins where the sides needed to come in to fit my waist.
I sewed one side, then drew the line to match with disappearing ink so both sides would be even.
and trimmed off the excess.
I then pinned the lining to the lace.
And sewed into place.
The original zip and buttons worked, I just added a hook and eye at the top.
Finished skirt! Leaving the lace longer than the lining accentuates the pattern of the lace.
So, what do you think ?
